John Law has been valuing plant and machinery of all types for more than 30 years. Having gained recognition as an Associate of the Australian Property Institute (API), John is still today the only certified Practising Valuer - Plant and Machinery - north of Brisbane. John specialises in the valuation of all plant and equipment for Quaid Auctioneers - everything from heavy machinery to catering equipment and office furniture. As principle Valuer, John provides complete inventory listings and valuations prior to auctions or for other purposes, for individuals, Government departments, financial or insurance companies.

As Manager of our Auction Warehouse, Peter is used to working to tight time frames and the pressures of preparing a new 1000 lot sale every two weeks. With a highly regarded background in the hospitality industry and qualified as a Chef, Peter is well known and respected in the field and brings this specialised knowledge to the growing catering component section of our sales. With a good understanding of many industries Peter has quickly become expert in such diverse fields as Vehicles, Boats, Agricultural & Engineering Machinery, Antique Furniture, Jewellery, Hardware and Tools. Continually striving to grow, Peter continues his studies towards getting to the auction podium and leading the charge as Auctioneer.

Peter became part of the Cairns Auction scene in the late 80’s as an extension of his then involvement in the real estate industry and public speaking. During a motor sports career that has spanned more than three decades, Peter has recorded many victories and championships up to an international level in speedway, rally and circuit racing. His many achievements and associations include former North Qld Sportsman of the Year, foundation member of the Cairns Competition Car Club, life member of the NQ International Motor Racing Association and a life member of the South Cairns Australian Football Club. Thanks to an enduring love of cars and the motor industry, Peter specialises in motor vehicles including the valuation and sale of collectable cars and motorcycles. Peter began his working life as a motor mechanic before becoming involved in sales and then a licensed motor dealer before qualifying as a defensive driver trainer. After working as an auction team member part time since 2004 while completing his Degree, Josh has developed an incredible knowledge of the nature of the assets we sell. From paper clips to ocean going vessels, our auction warehouse sees a vast array of assets pass and most of which Josh will be able to identify by sight. As second in charge under Peter Muir, Josh shares the difficult task of taking hundreds of un-related items and creating a highly organised and presented auction event that seems to effortlessly flow from one lot to the next. With a high level of academic ability Josh is expanding his role to assist in the valuation of plant & equipment with the aim of formal qualification.

As general office and administration manager, Sharon is largely responsible for the day to day running of our offices as well as our auction administration. When the action is over Sharon's work just begins with the reconciliation of moneys to vendors and well as prompt settlement required. With a specialized skill in asset listing and valuation work Sharon ensures that all documentation to do with our auctioning division is of the highest standard both in accuracy and presentation.
